Today, smart companies are using social-networking and blogging apps as business tools\u2014a trend dubbed Enterprise 2.0. Three years ago, Facebook opened its online doors to corporate users, and businesses were quick to find ways to make the most of it. One example:<\/p>\n

CoreMedia, a content management software (CMS) provider based in Hamburg, Germany, uses Facebook as one of its log-in mechanisms for a blog it hosts<\/p>\n

for partners, clients and employees. Like many Enterprise 2.0 firms, CoreMedia has lots of other cyber-tricks up its sleeve, too. \u201cWe\u2019re big fans of Twitter,\u201d says CoreMedia\u2019s Willms Buhse, referring to the microblogging app. \u201cIn fact we built our own internal application, called Trillr.\u201d The firm\u2019s 170 employees use Trillr to set up teams and send short messages to each other. If they need something morein-depth, there\u2019s the company intranet. CoreMedia\u2019s partners and customers can get in on the act, too. \u201cIf they want to write a blog entry, they can\u2014and even if it\u2019s negative, it\u2019s right there on our homepage,\u201d says Buhse. \u201cWe put a lot of trust in our customers.\u201d<\/p>\n
